


Independence. That is my goal and Project Walk-Austin is helping me gain more independence every day. Right now, I am working on being able to drive by myself, and I’m going to do it!
By the time I finished my SCI program with Project Walk® in California, I was walking across the room on crutches. Bringing the program to Texas as Project Walk-Austin was my next best step.

A spinal cord injury is like concrete; newly poured concrete is easy to work with and is moldable, but once it hardens, things become much more difficult. The success of our program increases for those who enter as soon as they are healthy enough and cleared for exercise by their treating physician. With each passing day, the body adapts to its new environment, making it harder to work with. For those clients who started right out of the hospital, the results have been amazing.
Project Walk-Austin Recovery Center is not a hospital or a rehab center. Project Walk-Austin is a training facility with specialized equipment and Certified Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Specialists. We work with the medical community to help you find your best options.
Are you ready?
We work with all types of injuries (Asia A completes to incompletes), as long as the client can breathe on their own and has his or her doctor’s clearance to start an intensive fitness program. The ideal client for SCI recovery training meets the following basic criteria:
